This card set features many silent film icons, such as Ramon Novarro, Rudolph Valentino’s rival to the "Latin Lover" crown. Two of the original Western film stars, Tom Mix and Hoot Gibson, are also paid tribute to on these photographic treasures. Gloria Swanson, who was as equally well known for her wardrobe as her acting prowess, makes an appearance on card no. 13. Femme fatale, Pola Negri boasted affairs with Charlie Chaplin and Rudolph Valentino. Cute kid, Jackie Coogan was plucked from obscurity by Charlie Chaplin. Leatrice Joy enjoyed an enviable career during the silent era but was one of many victims of the advent of sound, perhaps due to her unfashionable heavy southern accent. Mae Busch managed to secure appearances in many Laurel and Hardy movies.
